<strong>BOP</strong> ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES<br />
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY<br />
ISO Public Protection Classes – 1-7 are eligible and classes 8-10 must be submitted for approval<br />
Years in Business – Risks must have been in business for more than 1 year and any risks in<br />
business less than 3 years must be submitted for approval<br />
Coastal Locations – Risks with any locations within 75 miles of the Eastern or Gulf of Mexico<br />
seaboards are NOT eligible<br />
Losses – Risks with more than 3 losses, any weather loss over $25,000, or any non-weather loss<br />
over $10,000 in the past 3 years must be submitted<br />
Number of locations – more than 4 locations must be submitted<br />
Building Values - those exceeding $500,000 and NOT within 10% of an industry accepted ITV<br />
calculation must be submitted<br />
LESSORS RISK (LRO)<br />
Lessors Risks are eligible as long as the occupants meet our eligibility guidelines summarized<br />
below; however Restaurants and Motels are ineligible for LRO<br />
APARTMENTS, RESIDENTIAL CONDOMINIUMS and TOWNHOUSES<br />
Square Footage – No square footage limitation (35,000 for storage buildings)<br />
Annual Gross Revenue – $6,000,000 maximum per location<br />
Total Insured Value (TIV) – $6,000,000 for the total of buildings and personal property per location<br />
Building Age – Greater than 30 years without updates to the heating, roof, electrical and plumbing<br />
systems are ineligible<br />
Construction – Frame require automatic sprinkler systems, otherwise all other ISO construction<br />
types<br />
Height – No more than 4 stories, and Frame no more than 3 stories<br />
Units – No more than 20 units per building<br />
Buildings – No more than 6 buildings per location<br />
Eligible Occupancies – also include as acceptable in this guide: offices, wholesalers,<br />
mercantile/retail, processing and service occupancies (less than 35,000 square feet) and<br />
contractors (less than 7,500 square feet or less than 15% of building total area)<br />
Ineligible:<br />
‣ Buildings more than 10% vacant<br />
‣ Family dwellings of less than 4 units or any boarding<br />
‣ In Illinois no Retail or Service Occupancies are ineligible<br />
‣ Locations with boat docks or piers<br />
‣ Locations with more than 1 swimming pool or that have diving boards, slides, uncontrolled<br />
access or lack any life safety requirements<br />
‣ Locations without a resident manager<br />
‣ Restaurants occupancies make the entire building ineligible<br />
‣ Sauna, steam-room or playgrounds<br />
