They need somewhere to go for inspiration and answers to their everyday questions. As the facilitator, I help manage the group discussions to ensure that the members are getting the sound information and direction they need to successfully manage their business.” Jim Hundt, Foresight Architects Running a small business means making lots of decisions. Wouldn’t it be great if you could turn to a board of directors for advice about business plans, employment problems and marketing strategies The Chamber’s Executive Dialogue is a forum for CEOs, presidents and business owners to share best practices and resolve business challenges, in a confidential environment. Newly formatted, it has been redesigned to offer a more structured platform to discuss these critical issues and exchange advice with peers in noncompeting businesses. Executive Dialogue participants rely on a designated member that serves as the facilitator to guide the meetings in a way that results in a positive and valuable experience for everyone involved. The members of the group identify topics for discussion (up to four per session) and prioritize the issues. Topics can range from improving profitability to avoiding CEO burnout. Participants are encouraged to share experiences rather than give an opinion. Members then end up with information that allows for better decision making. According to Executive Dialogue’s current facilitator Jim Hundt of Foresight Architects, “Smart business owners quickly learn that they can’t go it alone when running a business. They need somewhere to go for inspiration and answers to their everyday questions. As the facilitator, I help manage the group discussions to ensure that the members are getting the sound information and direction they need to successfully manage and grow their business.” For this type of forum to be successful, members must share openly and honestly. To enable this level of communication, members are required to maintain complete confidentiality. Nothing discussed in Executive Dialogue ever leaves the room, including sharing information with partners, co-owners, spouses or significant others. By participating in Executive Dialogue, members can expect to make better decisions, improve communication skills and build strong relationships with other members. It is not intended as a venue for casual, social conversation or to serve as a networking platform for sales leads. Hundt has been a member of Executive Dialogue for more than 16 years.
