John M. Rose, a member <strong>of</strong> the Legislature, was out <strong>of</strong> town and escaped<br />

the wreck <strong>of</strong> his home, trom \vliich not an. article was saved. Mr. George<br />

Slick, father-in. law <strong>of</strong> John M.. ci'iitracted pneumonia from e-vposure and died<br />

the second week in June.<br />

Three doctors went down to the doom which medical skill could not ward<br />

<strong>of</strong>f. Ur. C. C. Brinklev- had practiced successfull\ in <strong>Johnstown</strong> about five years.<br />

He and his brother were among the victims in the Hulbert House. Dr. J.<br />

Lee was eminent in his pr<strong>of</strong>ession. He occupied a tine home and <strong>of</strong>fice on<br />
