Wie aus dem vorhergehenden Beispiel deutlich wird, unterscheidet EASI/PACE zwischen Textparametern (FILE) und numerischen Parametern (DBIC, DBOC, FLSZ, MASK). Im Command-Mode werden Textparameter bei der Statusausgabe durch einen Doppelpunkt (:) gekennzeichnet und die Texteingabe muß in Anführungszeichen gesetzt werden. Die Anführungszeichen am Textende können allerdings entfallen. Numerische Parameter sind durch ein Größerzeichen (>) gekennzeichnet.
