Similarly, ground vibration levels are predicted to meet the most stringent night-time criteria of<br />

1 mm/s at a distance of 500 m from the blast site. As all excavation blasting is conducted at least<br />

400 m below the surface, vibration impacts are likely to be minimal (which is also consistent with<br />

the existing Metropolitan Colliery excavation blasting practices and experience).<br />

12.7 Road Traffic Noise Impact Assessment<br />

The existing site access and coal haulage routes remain unaltered by the Project and mine<br />

generated employee and materials traffic along these public roads are not increased significantly<br />

by the Project. Any Project related traffic noise impacts are therefore likely to be acceptable.<br />

On Lawrence Hargrave Drive, the maximum increase arising from the additional Project related<br />

traffic flow is only 0.4% during the construction and operation morning peak hour. The<br />

anticipated 0.4% increase in vehicle movements corresponds to a negligible (
