3. The ChannelName field in the Init_Request message shall reflect the name of the<br />

newly-created feed.<br />

4. The splicer shall create the feed according to the Init_Request message. The newlycreated-feed<br />

shall be identical to the feed denoted by OriginalChannelName (see<br />

below). The identity shall encompass all PID values, types, descriptors, PCR PID and<br />

Program number within the newly-created feed's PMT and PAT.<br />

5. The splicer shall send an Init_Response message only after the new feed is created.<br />

Splice_Descriptor_Tag – 0x07<br />

Descriptor_Length – Variable. The length, in bytes, of the descriptor following this field.<br />

Splice_API_Identifier – 0x53415049, ASCII “SAPI”.<br />

OriginalChannelName – The logical name of the output channel used as the template for<br />

the newly-created-feed. This is a null-terminated string.<br />

Create_Feed_Descriptor_Type -- This field shall be a 0 to indicate that an IPV4 address is<br />

used and shall be a 1 to indicate that an IPV6 address is used.<br />

IPV4_Dest_Address – The destination IP address for the created output service. This is in<br />

the IPV4 format.<br />
