The purpose of this course is to study and practice<br />

writing and to study literature. Students will learn<br />

to use the modes of discourse and recognize the<br />

assumptions underlying various rhetorical<br />

strategies. Students will also acquire an<br />

understanding of the resources of the language<br />

and of the writer's craft. 1 year; 1 weighted +<br />

English credit; grade 12; prerequisite: A/B in AP<br />

English Language and Composition AND/OR<br />

Level 3 on FCAT Reading.<br />

Learners (ELL)<br />

ELL courses provide integrated educational<br />
