Shearith Israel Welcomes Rabbi David Singer Welcome New Members Arielle, Aden, Alexa, Adam and Jacob Alfia Steven, Lauren and Natalie Davidoff We are very pleased to announce that Rabbi David Singer has accepted the position of Associate Rabbi at Shearith Israel. Rabbi Singer grew up in San Diego and earned his BA with Honors in History at the University of California, Berkeley. He will be graduating from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles in May, where he concentrated in Philosophy and also served as Assistant Director of the Rabbinic Management Institute. He spent two years studying in Israel, most recently at Jerusalem’s Conservative Yeshiva. Rabbi Singer currently serves as a Dvar Tzedek Fellow for the American Jewish World Service, and was awarded the 2011 Whizin Prize in Jewish Ethics. He also authored a wonderful children’s book, Yisrael Sheli, My Israel: People and Places. When asked what he likes to do in his free time, David said he loves to write, play tennis and drink coffee, “all at the same time, when possible.” Rabbi Singer will be arriving in Dallas sometime this summer and we will have information on a Welcome Shabbat in the coming weeks.
