Ireland Adventure
Outburst Writer: Meg Calvert
Ireland’s lush green hills, breathtaking coastlines,
rich religious history and legendary hospitality
are all definitely things to look forward to for Ms.
Lane, Peter Adams, and the six Ward students who
will be visiting there this spring break.
Lizzy Breitenstein, Hugh Breitenstein,
Lourdes Madrigal, Stephanie Valle, Madison Lally,
and Meg Calvert, along with the rest of the Breitenstein
clan and some of Ms. Lane’s friends and relatives,
will be spending ten days in Ireland. They will
be traveling around both Northern Ireland, which is
still under the political governing of England, and the
Republic of Ireland, which is under its own control.
While on their trip, they will be celebrating
St. Patrick’s Day, which is considered a holy day of
obligation in Ireland and very much a solemn day
of reflection, not the stereotypical day of drunkenness
and debauchery, which came about thanks to us
Americans.
The travelers are looking forward to a memorable
Irish adventure.
