Unvented hot water systems<br />
Unvented hot water systems are gaining in popularity<br />
and market share every year in the UK.<br />
The advantages that these unvented systems offer<br />
over traditional, vented systems has led to unvented<br />
systems becoming the standard for supplying<br />
domestic hot water.<br />
Unvented systems have the following characteristics:<br />
• Pressure is applied directly by the incoming water<br />
supply.<br />
• Pressure reducing valve limits the system pressure<br />
to a safe level as well as providing back flow<br />
prevention.<br />
• A pressure and temperature relief valve provides<br />
protection against over-pressure and over-temperature.<br />
• Expansion is accommodated by an expansion<br />
vessel.<br />

• Higher system pressure gives superior flow rates,<br />
improving the performance of taps and showers.<br />
• No header tank required.<br />
