take into account the latest Notices to Mariners and NAVAREA warnings in
force which are available in the official NHO website (www.hydrobharat.nic.in).
The concerned agencies may also to refer to the latest editions of nautical
charts and publications, if available and confirm that the planned operation
does not hamper any other activity or has any economic ramifications The
responsibility of agencies involved in providing necessary clearances is as
appended below:-
(i) The originating agencies are also to refer the request for
NAVAREA promulgation to IHQ MoD (Navy)/DNO for approval of text of
message.
(ii) IHQ MoD (Navy) / DNO is to forward the approval so as to reach
the NAVAREA Coordinator ten working days prior to the scheduled
trials/launch date.
(iii) In case of operations covering wide sea areas e.g. DRDO/ISRO
two definite launch dates of limited time duration (maximum five hours)
is to be specified by the originating agency.
(iv) The originating agencies should inform all agencies including
FODAG, DG Hydrocarbons, local Port offices, Fisheries department etc
about the special operations well in time. The agencies are to resolve
issues bilaterally in case of overlapping requirements. The list of
addressees to be informed is placed at Appendix ‘B’.
(v) FODAG is to confirm the presence of any oil rigs/seismic vessels
within the danger zone and inform concerned vessel, E& P operator.
(vi) The Officer-in-Charge, Naval Chart Depot (Mumbai) is to
promulgate NAVAREA warning after clearance from FODAG about oil
rigs/seismic vessels in the danger zone.
(b) Warnings pertaining to Seismic surveys, establishment of offshore
structures, cable and pipe-laying activities.
(i) The originating agencies are to take necessary clearances from
IHQ MoD (Navy)/DNI and FODAG for the operation.
(ii) FODAG to undertake the naval security inspection of the vessel
post clearance from IHQ MoD (Navy)/DNI. Approval for
