Oncoplastic Reconstruction<br />
• Refers to a “hybrid” of reconstructive procedures<br />
performed during a lumpectomy<br />
• Removal of tumor by lumpectomy<br />
• Simultaneous reconstruction of the breast via reduction<br />
to give the breast a normal contour followed by<br />
potential radiation<br />
• No tissue is imported, only the existing breast tissue is<br />
used/manipulated<br />
• Useful for larger breasted patients who are<br />
contemplating a reduction
