(a) Changes to the layout of the consolidated cash (a) flow statements (continued) The method of calculation of certain items in the 15 consolidated cash flow statement has changed under the revised SSAP 15, as explained under 3 the heading “Foreign currencies” in note 3 to the financial statements. Cash flows of overseas subsidiaries are now translated into Hong Kong dollars at the exchange rates ruling at the dates of the cash flows. Frequently recurring cash flows of overseas subsidiaries which arise throughout the year are translated into Hong Kong dollars at the weighted average exchange rates for the year. Previously, the cash flows of overseas subsidiaries were translated into Hong Kong dollars at the exchange rates ruling at the balance sheet date.
