Cluster for approval tomorrow. The outcome of the
Cluster decision would then be reported as soon as
possible. Blocks of management time will be needed to
support the implementation. Some schemes will not
require that support i.e. NHS Checks, Twinning, PLT
and the Community Dermatology project has
management time built in. There will be scope to jointly
manage some of the projects.
Dr Jawahar asked if unsuccessful practices would
receive written feedback. Dr Jawahar was asked to
take back the message to his locality that schemes
were only able to be approved if they were city-wide.

Redesign of Maternity and Gynaecology Services
within UHL
Dr Teck Khong, Ms Mel Thwaites, Assistant Director of
Children and Families (LLR Cluster) and Ian
Scudamore, Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician
(UHL) attended for this item to present two papers
(Paper M); a briefing paper on the redesign and
reconfiguration of maternity and gynaecology services
within UHL and a response by Dr Khong setting out a
commissioner view to these proposals. The CCG
generally supported the proposals and will further
consider the paper. Dr Khong and Ms Thwaites will
formally respond to Mr Scudamore.

Dr Jo McKenna, Senior Contracts and Provider
Performance Manager (Acute) attended for this item to
present a framework for specifying commissioning
intentions for acute services in 2012/13 for Leicester,
Leicestershire and Rutland (Paper N). The main things
for the CCGs to consider are any service proposals for
