MAy BOARD MiNUTES<br />

CALLED TO ORDER<br />

Vice President Steve Barker called <strong>the</strong> meeting to order at 7:10<br />

PM.<br />

Attending: Frederick Rauch, Kirk Bradford, John Murphy,<br />

Eduardo Ortega, Jr., Mike Willis, Steve Barker, Matt Deter, Rik<br />

Larson, Bob Peake.<br />

OLD BUSiNESS<br />

Minutes: The April minutes were reviewed and accepted.<br />

Email Voting Minutes: The May 4th email vote minutes were<br />

reviewed and accepted.<br />

Vice-President Calendar Review: Steve reviewed <strong>the</strong> calendar<br />

for upcoming events. Insurance for <strong>the</strong> Eureka tour is in place.<br />

Steve will order insurance for <strong>the</strong> May and June AX events at<br />

Ma<strong>the</strong>r for our new location at <strong>the</strong> West cargo ramp. Frederick<br />

will send Steve event info for <strong>the</strong> <strong>July</strong> 16th Laguna Seca DE.<br />

NEW BUSiNESS<br />

E-mail Voting Criteria: Frederick proposed that <strong>the</strong> email<br />

voting process mimic <strong>the</strong> process used at <strong>the</strong> board meetings.<br />

Mike Willis asked what <strong>the</strong> criteria for voting by email would<br />

be. The board agreed that only urgent issues which must be<br />

resolved before <strong>the</strong> next board meeting will be voted on by<br />

email.<br />

Zone 7 Presidents Meeting: Fredrick attended <strong>the</strong> meeting<br />

on behalf of SVR. It was announced that <strong>the</strong> Panorama editor<br />

of 32 years is retiring. Future event dates announced include:<br />

Parade 2013 in Travers City, Michigan and Parade 2014 in<br />

Monterey, CA. Escape 2013 is will be in Pomona, CA. Tech<br />

Tactics West with PCNA is coming this December. It was also<br />

discussed that DE “Taste of <strong>the</strong> Track” events can only be low<br />

speed laps. No high speed passenger rides are allowed at PCA<br />

DE events.<br />

Drifter Advertiser: David Yamada ad suggested by Kim Nelson<br />

as a thank you to David for his excellent car care clinic. Board<br />

discussed. Mike moved, Bob seconded a motion to provide<br />

David a 2-unit Drifter ad.<br />

Drifter Editor Search: Rik Larson has talked to 4 interested<br />

club members and has also researched costs for contracting out<br />

<strong>the</strong> layout. Rik will be talking again with Bob Jacobsen who<br />

has expressed significant interest.<br />

BOARD MEMBER REPORTS<br />

Charity (Ruth Stark): No report.<br />

Competition:<br />

Autocross (Bob Peake): School on <strong>the</strong> 19th. Zone event on <strong>the</strong><br />

20th. Wings and Wheels event on June 2nd at McClellan parking<br />

lot. The new site at Ma<strong>the</strong>r is huge!<br />

Concours (Kent Brandon): No report.<br />

Drivers Education (Frederick Rauch): No report.<br />

Rallye (Rik Larson): No report.<br />

Advertising (Frederick Rauch): No report.<br />

Drifter: See new business.<br />

Treasurer (Kirk Bradford): Detailed report sent to board<br />

members by email.<br />

New Members Group (Lee Deter): No report.<br />

Goodie Store (Cookie Anderson): No report.<br />

Membership (Mike Willis): Mike has prepared an electronic<br />

membership roster in PDF format to replace <strong>the</strong> printed version.<br />

This new version will be updated quarterly and distributed to all<br />

members via email.<br />

SVR has 605 primary members with 476 family and affiliates,<br />

plus 8 dual members for a total of 1089.<br />

Social (Eduardo Ortega Jr.): Rik presented his TSD rally budget<br />

for <strong>July</strong> 1st. John moved to approve <strong>the</strong> budget, Mike seconded<br />

and all approved. Kirk presented <strong>the</strong> Deaver 50th anniversary<br />

event budgets. Mike moved to approve <strong>the</strong> budgets as presented,<br />

John seconded and all approved. Eduardo presented <strong>the</strong> Canepa<br />

tour budget. Mike moved to approve, John seconded and all<br />

approved. Lastly, Eduardo presented <strong>the</strong> High Sierra summer tour<br />

budget which was unanimously approved.<br />

Technical (Lisa Thomas): No report.<br />

Webmaster (John Murphy): No report.<br />

Vice President (Steve Barker): No report.<br />

Secretary (Matt Deter): No report.<br />
