Swim/Dive Sectional – Come on out and support your Lady Cyclones Swimming and Diving Team as they host the<br />

sectional competition at Eisenhower Pool tomorrow. Diving begins at 9:00 a.m. and swimming at 1:00 p.m.<br />

Key Club FundRaiser – Tomorrow, the Key Club will have a fundraiser at Cherry Berry from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Ten<br />

percent of all sales will go to the Key Club’s Thanksgiving food drive.<br />

Blood Drive Challenge – SHG’s first Blood Drive of this school year will be held on Monday, November 12. Sign up<br />

in your Theology classroom or Study Hall. If you are 16, consent forms are found in the main office or study hall.<br />

Black Catholic History Month - November is Black Catholic History month. To celebrate this occasion, there will be a<br />

Mass of Thanksgiving in the African Tradition on Sunday, November 11, 8:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, South Grand<br />

& Martin Luther King Drive. Members of St. Patrick's Choir will join the Central Illinois African Ensemble to provide the<br />

Liturgical music. There will be refreshments in the Church basement after Mass.<br />

Veterans Day Concert – Come on out and support the SHG and Springfield Catholic Elementary <strong>School</strong> bands this<br />

Sunday, November 11 in paying tribute to our Veterans. Concert begins at 3:00 p.m. in the SHG Theatre and everyone<br />

is invited to attend with a reception following.<br />

Thanksgiving in the African Tradition on Sunday, November 11, 8:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, South Grand Ave &<br />

Martin Luther King Drive. Please join us in this celebration. Members of St. Patrick's Choir will join the Central Illinois<br />

African Ensemble to provide the Liturgical music. The Mass usually lasts about one hour. There will be refreshments in<br />

the Church basement after Mass.<br />

NCAA Eligibility – Do you want to be a college student-athlete? If you are a gifted athlete who has an interest in<br />

competing in Division I or II college athletics, it is important to also know the academic requirements of the NCAA. A<br />

meeting to cover the NCAA initial eligibility requirements will be held at Southeast <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> on Thursday,<br />

November 15 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This is an informative presentation covering topics such as core courses, test scores,<br />

core grade point average, and amateurism requirements of the NCAA. For more information, please stop by the Guidance<br />

Office.<br />

Book of Life - Students and Staff throughout the month of November, you are invited to visit the chapel and add any<br />

names of deceased family or friends to our “Book of Life.” Each day, we will pray for all whose names are written in the<br />

“Book of Life.”<br />
