All Preprofessionals are invited to attend a mixer-reception to start off the
convention in Pittsburgh. A time for networking and reconnecting will follow a
brief introduction hosted by the International Preprofessional Community.
Come learn about the different events the preprofessional community hosts
and learn some tips on how to get the most out of the meeting: from technical
sessions to night life.

YPC SOCIAL OUTING –
SIGHTSEEING CLIPPER CRUISE AND DINNER
Saturday, June 19 – 3:00PM-8:00PM
Location: Meet in East Lobby of Convention Center
NOTE: The walk to the Clipper Cruise is about 1 mile through the city and
across the river. Taxi’s will post at this location for you to share a ride at your
own expense for those not wishing to walk.
Spend Saturday evening with fellow young professionals in ASABE! Join us
outside the East Lobby of the Convention Center at 3:15PM. We will arrange to
have several taxis available at this location for you to share the ride across the
river to Station Square. At Station Square, we’ll catch a Sightseeing Clipper
Cruise at 4:00PM (boards at 3:50PM), taking in the views of Pittsburgh from
the water. The captain will point out distinctive sites and provide a narration of
Pittsburgh’s history and what is hapenneing currently. After the boat docks at
5:00PM, we’ll find dinner at a restaurant nearby. Station Square is a charming
riverfront restoration of the former Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad
Headquarters and is now a popular complex housing an array of specialty
shops, boutiques and eateries. The outing is open to everyone - Senior Actives,
Student Members, International Preprofessional Council members - come join
us if you can! Preregister and save about a dollar off the dockside price.
COST: $14.00 plus taxi and dinner on own.

Joe Glass of California Polytechnic State University will preside over the
service.
FOUNTAIN WARS PRESENTATION JUDGING

Are you interested in the preparation and creative behind the scenes efforts of
the different Fountain Wars teams Come listen to the oral presentation phase
of the competition and get a heads up on what is going to be displayed at the
building-testing phase on Monday.

BUSINESS MEETING

This is the main event of the International Preprofessional Community at AIM
2010. The current IPC officers will share the year’s progress and then hold roll.
Also on the agenda is a parliamentary procedure refresher and elections for the
2010-2011 IPC officers. Come represent your school and preprofessional
chapter! All students are highly encouraged to come to this function
UNDERGRADUATE POSTER COMPETITION
Sunday, June 20 – 3:00PM-4:30PM
Location: Exhibit Hall C – 2nd Floor
This undergraduate poster competition encourages Preprofessional ASABE
members to interact with industry, faculty, and fellow students by giving a
technical poster presentation on an engineering project useful to agriculture
and related areas. Feel free to come browse the posters, engage the students in
dialogue about their experiences, or listen to their brief research-poster
summary. Winners of this competition will receive cash awards of $500, $300,
and $200 for first, second and third places respectively. Registration ends May

ASABE WELCOME RECEPTION

Location: Exhibit Hall C – 2nd Floor
All meeting registrants are invited to attend our welcome recpetion. This is a
good time to network with other attendees and to make further plans for
dinner after the reception. The Pittsburgh Convention and Visitors Bureau will
have a representative available to assist you in making your dining
reservations.
YPC ALL IN GOOD FUN CONTEST

This contest is a fun way to support the Young Professionals Community while
providing laughs for all. This event is used as an icebreaker during the Fountain
Wars Event. To support your favorite contestant stop by the YPC booth.
INDUSTRY STUDENT EXCHANGE PANEL

Don’t miss out on an opportunity to build professional contacts in a relaxed
atmosphere, while learning about what challenges others in your field have
dealth with during their careers. Professionals and students will break into
small group discussions based on their areas of expertise, study, or interest.
Discussion topics will include Power Machinery, Structures and Environment,
Soil and Water, Biofuels and Bioenergy, and more. Professionals will come from
industry positions, government agencies, and academic environments and will
have a variety of life experiences to share with students. So, come out and take
