All Prepr<strong>of</strong>essionals are invited to attend a mixer-reception to start <strong>of</strong>f the<br />

convention in Pittsburgh. A time for networking and reconnecting will follow a<br />

brief introduction hosted by the <strong>International</strong> Prepr<strong>of</strong>essional Community.<br />

Come learn about the different events the prepr<strong>of</strong>essional community hosts<br />

and learn some tips on how to get the most out <strong>of</strong> the meeting: from technical<br />

sessions to night life.<br />

YPC SOCIAL OUTING –<br />

SIGHTSEEING CLIPPER CRUISE AND DINNER<br />

Saturday, June 19 – 3:00PM-8:00PM<br />

Location: Meet in East Lobby <strong>of</strong> Convention Center<br />

NOTE: The walk to the Clipper Cruise is about 1 mile through the city and<br />

across the river. Taxi’s will post at this location for you to share a ride at your<br />

own expense for those not wishing to walk.<br />

Spend Saturday evening with fellow young pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in <strong>ASABE</strong>! Join us<br />

outside the East Lobby <strong>of</strong> the Convention Center at 3:15PM. We will arrange to<br />

have several taxis available at this location for you to share the ride across the<br />

river to Station Square. At Station Square, we’ll catch a Sightseeing Clipper<br />

Cruise at 4:00PM (boards at 3:50PM), taking in the views <strong>of</strong> Pittsburgh from<br />

the water. The captain will point out distinctive sites and provide a narration <strong>of</strong><br />

Pittsburgh’s history and what is hapenneing currently. After the boat docks at<br />

5:00PM, we’ll find dinner at a restaurant nearby. Station Square is a charming<br />

riverfront restoration <strong>of</strong> the former Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad<br />

Headquarters and is now a popular complex housing an array <strong>of</strong> specialty<br />

shops, boutiques and eateries. The outing is open to everyone - Senior Actives,<br />

Student Members, <strong>International</strong> Prepr<strong>of</strong>essional Council members - come join<br />

us if you can! Preregister and save about a dollar <strong>of</strong>f the dockside price.<br />

COST: $14.00 plus taxi and dinner on own.<br />

Joe Glass <strong>of</strong> California Polytechnic State University will preside over the<br />

FOUNTAIN WARS PRESENTATION JUDGING<br />

Are you interested in the preparation and creative behind the scenes efforts <strong>of</strong><br />

the different Fountain Wars teams Come listen to the oral presentation phase<br />

<strong>of</strong> the competition and get a heads up on what is going to be displayed at the<br />

building-testing phase on Monday.<br />

This is the main event <strong>of</strong> the <strong>International</strong> Prepr<strong>of</strong>essional Community at AIM<br />

<strong>2010</strong>. The current IPC <strong>of</strong>ficers will share the year’s progress and then hold roll.<br />

Also on the agenda is a parliamentary procedure refresher and elections for the<br />

<strong>2010</strong>-2011 IPC <strong>of</strong>ficers. Come represent your school and prepr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

chapter! All students are highly encouraged to come to this function<br />

UNDERGRADUATE POSTER COMPETITION<br />

Sunday, June 20 – 3:00PM-4:30PM<br />

Location: Exhibit Hall C – 2nd Floor<br />

This undergraduate poster competition encourages Prepr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>ASABE</strong><br />

members to interact with industry, faculty, and fellow students by giving a<br />

technical poster presentation on an engineering project useful to agriculture<br />

and related areas. Feel free to come browse the posters, engage the students in<br />

dialogue about their experiences, or listen to their brief research-poster<br />

summary. Winners <strong>of</strong> this competition will receive cash awards <strong>of</strong> $500, $300,<br />

and $200 for first, second and third places respectively. Registration ends May<br />

<strong>ASABE</strong> WELCOME RECEPTION<br />

Sunday, June 20 – 4:30PM-6:00PM<br />

Location: Exhibit Hall C – 2nd Floor<br />

All meeting registrants are invited to attend our welcome recpetion. This is a<br />

good time to network with other attendees and to make further plans for<br />

dinner after the reception. The Pittsburgh Convention and Visitors Bureau will<br />

have a representative available to assist you in making your dining<br />

reservations.<br />

YPC ALL IN GOOD FUN CONTEST<br />

Location: YPC booth – Exhibit Hall<br />

This contest is a fun way to support the Young Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals Community while<br />

providing laughs for all. This event is used as an icebreaker during the Fountain<br />

Wars Event. To support your favorite contestant stop by the YPC booth.<br />

INDUSTRY STUDENT EXCHANGE PANEL<br />

Sunday, June 20 – 6:00PM-7:00PM<br />

Don’t miss out on an opportunity to build pr<strong>of</strong>essional contacts in a relaxed<br />

atmosphere, while learning about what challenges others in your field have<br />

dealth with during their careers. Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals and students will break into<br />

small group discussions based on their areas <strong>of</strong> expertise, study, or interest.<br />

Discussion topics will include Power Machinery, Structures and Environment,<br />

Soil and Water, Bi<strong>of</strong>uels and Bioenergy, and more. Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals will come from<br />

industry positions, government agencies, and academic environments and will<br />

have a variety <strong>of</strong> life experiences to share with students. So, come out and take<br />

advantage <strong>of</strong> this great opportunity to network and learn some “tricks <strong>of</strong> the<br />

trade” for success in your future career!
