Young Professional Community Saturday T3 YPC SOCIAL OUTING – SIGHTSEEING CLIPPER CRUISE AND DINNER Saturday, June 19 – 3:00PM-8:00PM Location: Meet in East Lobby of Convention Center NOTE: The walk to the Clipper Cruise is about 1 mile through the city and across the river. Taxi’s will post at this location for you to share a ride at your own expense for those not wishing to walk. Spend Saturday evening with fellow young professionals in ASABE! Join us outside the East Lobby of the Convention Center at 3:15PM. We will arrange to have several taxis available at this location for you to share the ride across the river to Station Square. At Station Square, we’ll catch a Sightseeing Clipper Cruise at 4:00PM (boards at 3:50PM), taking in the views of Pittsburgh from the water. The captain will point out distinctive sites and provide a narration of Pittsburgh’s history and what is hapenneing currently. After the boat docks at 5:00PM, we’ll find dinner at a restaurant nearby. Station Square is a charming riverfront restoration of the former Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Headquarters and is now a popular complex housing an array of specialty shops, boutiques and eateries. The outing is open to everyone - Senior Actives, Student Members, International Preprofessional Council members - come join us if you can! Preregister and save about a dollar off the dockside price. COST: $14.00 plus taxi and dinner on own SUNDAY E#3 YPC FUN RUN Sunday, June 20 – 8:00AM Location: Meet at main registration desk The Young Professional Committee is proud to sponsor the fifth annual YPC Fun Run, a 5K run/walk, at the 2010 Annual International Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA, on Sunday June 20. The Fun Run will be held on the Station Square Trail on the south bank of the Monongohela River. For an overview of the trail, please see the map at www.friendsoftheriverfront.org/map; detailed maps will be provided to all runners. A group will depart to the start of the run at 7:20AM from the Convention Center, crossing the Smithfield St. bridge enroute. For additional details contact bkgelder@iastate.edu. Proceeds will help support future YPC events focused on young member retention. Show your support for the YPC while staying active! COST: $20.00 (includes t-shirt and refreshments). ASABE WELCOME RECEPTION Sunday, June 20 – 4:30PM-6:00PM Location: Exhibit Hall C – 2nd Floor All meeting registrants are invited to attend our welcome recpetion. This is a good time to network with other attendees and to make further plans for dinner after the reception. The Pittsburgh Convention and Visitors Bureau will have a representative available to assist you in making your dining reservations. YPC ALL IN GOOD FUN CONTEST Sunday, June 20, Monday, June 21 Location: YPC booth This contest is a fun way to support the Young Professionals Community while providing laughs for all. This event is used as an icebreaker during the Fountain Wars Event. To support your favorite contestant stop by the YPC booth. E#4 WOMEN IN ASABE Sunday, June 20 – 7:00PM-9:00PM Location: Grassy Knoll – David L. Lawrence Convention Center The Women in ASABE social is an informal event open to all ASABE members. This event provides a unique opportunity to meet, socialize and network with women members from across ASABE. COST: $55.00; (E#4a) $20.00 for students MONDAY WHAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT ASABE Monday, June 21 – 7:00am-8:00am Location: 333 Come to an informal session hosted by the Young Professional Community to introduce new and old members alike to the many opportunities available in ASABE. Topics to be addresses include Professional Licensure, Upper-Level Organizational Structure of ASABE, What Does the Executive Director and Staff Do, and International Opportunities for ASABE members. Refreshments will be provided. All members, especially first-time meeting attendees and preprofessionals are invited to attend. GENERAL SESSION/RECOGNITIONS AND KEYNOTE SPEAKER Monday, June 21 – 8:00AM-9:30AM Location: Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom ASABE President Ron Yoder welcomes each of you to the ASABE Annual International Meeting. Our keynote speaker is Mark D. Stowers, Senior Vice Presient of Science and Technology for POET, the world’s largest ethanol producer.
