Olivier Graduates
in Style
One of our most popular and humble
students of the last decade, Olivier
Nsabimana (‘08), has graduated
from university and he has proudly
remembered the path which saw
him succeed. Olivier completed high
school in Rwanda as one of the nation’s
highest achievers in 2007, and then
came to Australia to complete the
HSC at KWS to allow him to enter an
Australian University. He joined the
faculty of Engineering at UNSW four
years ago recently graduating with
Honours Class 1. Last year, Olivier
spoke to the graduating Year 12
students at the celebration assembly,
and his messages were full of passion,
pride and emotion when fondly
remembering his schooling days.
Kinross Wolaroi is extremely proud
of Olivier and his achievements as he
has set a fine example for all of our
students to follow.
Chris keeps the links alive
Chris Mortensen came to KWS as an
exchange student from the US for
just one semester in 1987. He was
hosted by the Smith family (Mindy
’88) and Craig (’90). Even though his
stay was short, Chris enjoyed himself
enormously and took with him some
wonderful life-long memories. He was
very excited when the opportunity
arose to visit the school again this year,
with his mother and young daughter.
Chris, now a teacher himself, was
in awe of the progress the school
has made in 25 years as he toured
buildings and areas both new and old.
In a wonderful display of generosity,
Chris made a significant donation
toward our bursary program.
