Ex-Students:
Making an Impact
Year 12 leave
a legacy
In the true spirit of giving back,
the students of Year 12 2013 are
making pledges to establish a Class
Fund, which will be used for the
advancement of education at KWS.
While the exact cause the funds will
be used for is yet to be determined,
both the Ex-students’ Association and
the Year 12 students are excited as
this new plan comes to fruition. In
making a pledge, the students are in
agreement that $13 from the Class of
‘13 is a good way to begin this legacy
and that future graduating years should
follow in making similar pledges. In
making the pledge the students were
asked to do so out of their own pockets
and not bother their parents (or use
the school account) to find this small
contribution. $13 hurts ‘just a little bit’,
however the sense of pride that goes
with belonging to a group pledge will
be most rewarding.
Tutor Houses enjoy benefits
From a discussion in 2012, it became
obvious that some extra funds given to
the pastoral care Tutor Houses would
be well received. Following this, the
Ex-students’ Association committed
$300 to each of the Senior School Tutor
Houses, as well as to the Prep School.
With a ‘whole house’ notion in mind,
the donations are to be used for items
that would benefit all members of the
Tutor Houses. So far, the generous
donations from the ESA have been used
to purchase microwaves and sandwich
toasters, giant house mascots, and
bench seating in common areas.
Executive of
the ESA
Whilst many ex-students attend
meetings and assist with planning
and organising for the Ex-students’
Association, the following four
members form the Executive of the
Association.
