CHAPTER 10 ■ .NET 3.0: PROGRAMMING WITH CARDSPACE 237
Figure 10-4. The “Edit a new card” screen
Using Cards on the Web
When you visit a web site that requires you to pass credentials using a card, the Card-
Space application will automatically launch and ask you for the card to use. Different
sites have different requirements, and the more sensitive the information, the more
secure the card will need to be. As you can imagine, banking and brokerage sites will have
different security needs from simple social networking sites, and they will likely require
managed cards issued by a trusted authority. In this simple example, a personal card like
the one you created in the previous section is enough.
Figure 10-5 shows a simple web site that requests you to sign in using a CardSpace
card.
