CHRISTCHURCH FUTSAL CANTERBURY
Ricardo Felitti’s youthful Christchurch Futsal side
struggled against all opposition in Series One,
conceding 37 goals in five games and finishing
bottom of the table.
While the team have trained hard for Series Two
over the summer and will be looking to upset at
least one of the big guns in Dunedin this weekend,
Christchurch Futsal remain a ‘work in progress’ as
they build towards next season’s National League.
Meanwhile, its difficult to see the South Islanders
getting anywhere near a spot in the playoffs by the
end of Series Three in Auckland.
Sixteen year olds Rian Hooper (pivot) and Isaac
Malpass (flanker) were impressive at times in Series
One and along with seventeen year olds Miles
Gruschow (target) and Marcus Livingstone (flanker),
look like exciting prospects for the future.
Chileans Jorge Donoso and Jose Sabugal,
unavailable for Series One are exciting additions to
the squad for the Dunedin series.
