TR Electrical moves in<strong>to</strong> new complex<br />
Athens business expands <strong>to</strong> 4,000 feet of floor space<br />
ne of Limes<strong>to</strong>ne County's<br />
fastest growing businesses, TR<br />
Electrical LLC, recently moved<br />
in<strong>to</strong> a new office and warehouse that<br />
includes 4,000 square feet of floor<br />
space.<br />
TR Electrical, owned and operated by<br />
the father and son team of Tim Bauer<br />
and Robbie McDowell, is now located<br />
at 1631 L. Gray Blvd. in Athens between<br />
Sears and Advance Au<strong>to</strong>, just<br />
off U.S. 72 West. Tim and Robbie<br />
would like <strong>to</strong> thank all their cus<strong>to</strong>mers<br />
that have made it possible for<br />
us <strong>to</strong> expand and complete <strong>this</strong> new<br />
office and warehouse complex. TR<br />
Electrical now employs 16 people including<br />
Robbie’s wife, Amber Mc-<br />
Dowell, as bookkeeper.<br />
The new building was constructed by<br />
Premier Structures Inc., of Athens. TR<br />
Electrical was formerly located at 101<br />
E. Lee Street.<br />
TR Electrical was started in December,<br />
2007 and has steadily grown in a<br />
weak economy. They now do work in<br />
all of Northern Alabama and Southern<br />
Tennessee. Office hours are from<br />
7 a.m. <strong>to</strong> 4:30 p.m.<br />
Bauer worked at the General Mo<strong>to</strong>rs<br />
Delphi plant in Limes<strong>to</strong>ne County for<br />
more than 30 years before retiring in<br />
early 2007. McDowell was an experienced<br />
electrician with Bobby Terry<br />
Company when the two decided <strong>to</strong> go<br />
in<strong>to</strong> business for themselves. The<br />
business is named after both father<br />
and son.<br />
"We've had some stressful times, but<br />
overall it has worked out well," Bauer<br />
said.<br />
Today, TR Electrical is one of the<br />
largest electrical contrac<strong>to</strong>rs in<br />
Athens and Limes<strong>to</strong>ne County. Bauer<br />
credits that <strong>to</strong> a hard working staff of<br />
devoted employees and faithful cus<strong>to</strong>mers.<br />
"We feel fortunate in a weak economy<br />
<strong>to</strong> have the amount of business we've<br />
had," he said recently. “God has truly<br />
blessed us.”<br />
TR Electrical provides electrical work<br />
for commercial, residential, and industrial<br />
applications. Some of their<br />
most recent major work includes<br />
building churches, s<strong>to</strong>res, restaurants,<br />
offices, and homes. TR Electrical<br />
currently works with the following<br />
residential contrac<strong>to</strong>rs: Keith Griffin<br />
Contrac<strong>to</strong>rs Inc., of Athens, Brown<br />
and Meers Homes LLC in Madison,<br />
Legacy Southern Homes, Huntsville,<br />
and KJB Construction Inc., of Taft,<br />
Tenn.<br />
On the commercial side, TR Electrical<br />
LLC is now completing work on two<br />
new churches, Bethel Church of<br />
Christ with Pres<strong>to</strong>n Builders, and<br />
Lake<strong>view</strong> Methodist Church with<br />
Scott Construction. Both of these<br />
jobs are in Athens. The company is<br />
also completing plans with RDB Contrac<strong>to</strong>rs<br />
for construction of a local<br />
medical facility. TR Electrical is also<br />
involved in a large industrial project<br />
at the Electricfil Corporation plant in<br />
Elkmont.<br />
