SUNSHINE THROUGH
GOLF
Sunshine Through Golf is a 5-week, skill-based golf
program designed to teach the game of golf and
encourage participation by individuals with disabilities.
Lessons will cover putting, chipping, the full swing, rules
and proper etiquette. The last week will include course
instruction followed by an awards presentation and a
cookout for participants, sta� and professionals. This
program is being o�ered in cooperation with Lake Shore
Country Club and the Chicago District Golf Association.
NSSRA will assist the golf professional by providing sta�
based on participant needs.
GOALS: Develop golf skills through instruction and
practice. Increase range of motion. Learn proper stance
and balance.

YOUTH HORSEBACK
RIDING
Giddy Up! Equestrian Connection is a one-of-a-kind
stable that provides therapeutic horseback riding
opportunities speci�cally designed for individuals with
special needs. Participants learn and practice grooming
techniques, ride for 20-30 minutes, have a snack and
engage in a horse-related activity each week. A waiver
will be mailed prior to program; the waiver must be
returned to the NSSRA o�ce before participation in
this program is approved.
GOALS: Increase �exibility and range of motion while
on the horse. Gain self-con�dence and a sense of control
through stable skills. Develop companionship with the
horse and a sense of responsibility.

JAMMIN’ KIDS
Get ready for a musical experience where we will
explore, learn and socialize with our peers. This program
is structured for exploring the world of music through
hands-on activities with musical instruments, singing
and moving to the music.
GOALS: Develop the ability to produce rhythms.
Increase exposure to a variety of music styles and
instruments. Promote ability to express one’s self
through music and movement. Improve ability to
participate in a group setting.

AQUA FUN
During this time, you will enjoy having fun in the pool
with your peers! We will play a variety of water games
each week that incorporate physical activity, social
games and free swim in the water. Please bring a
labeled swimsuit and towel. An afterschool snack
will be provided.
GOALS: Learn leisure swim activities. Improve
cooperation with others. Engage in physical activity
through water play.
