FLOOR HOCKEY<br />

Grab your sticks and hit the gym! During this program,<br />

you will have fun learning the basic skills of �oor hockey.<br />

Each week, we will work on our skills and play a practice<br />

game. Note: This program is not competitive.<br />

GOALS: Build teamwork. Develop increased peer<br />

interaction. Learn basic �oor hockey skills.<br />

FREE EVENT for your family. We will be having<br />

performances by current <strong>NSSRA</strong> Cultural Arts programs<br />

such as Choir, Drama and Dance Crew. We will also<br />

showcase artwork from other <strong>NSSRA</strong> programs such as<br />

photography and individual art projects from throughout<br />

the season! Activities and refreshments make this FREE<br />

family event complete! Registration required, sign up<br />

today! Registration deadline is Wednesday,<br />

November 21.<br />

Join our new and improved PAC (Program<br />

Advisory Committee). PAC includes<br />

parents and adult participants from<br />

<strong>NSSRA</strong> partner communities. PAC<br />

provides information and advice to our<br />

staff that help improve our programs and<br />

services. If you are a resident and<br />

interested in sharing your input with us on<br />

programs and servies, please contact an<br />

<strong>NSSRA</strong> Superintendent at (847)<br />

509-9400. The Fall PAC Meeting will<br />

be held on Wednesday, October 24<br />

at 7:00 pm.<br />

FITNESS FRENZY (NEW!)<br />

Join us in this new program where we will track our<br />

physical progress throughout the season. Each week,<br />

we will focus on improving our muscle tone and cardio<br />

health through cardiovascular workouts and muscle<br />

strengthening exercises. At the end of each session, a<br />

fun, new exercise or workout routine will be introduced<br />

to the group. There will also be a healthy snack at the<br />

end of each program and participants will learn to make<br />

healthy snack choices. At the end of the season, each<br />

participant will be given resources to take home to<br />

continue their workout progress.<br />

GOALS: Improve physical health and mental well-being.<br />

Increase muscle strength and endurance. Increase<br />

nutritional knowledge and promote healthy lifestyle<br />

choices.<br />
