ROP DIGITAL ART/GRAPHIC DESIGN<br />
2682 Semester<br />
Students in this course will learn the basic tools and fundamentals of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator while<br />
designing layouts and logos for individual portfolios. Projects will be designed to enhance student understanding of<br />
graphic design and illustration.<br />
ROP FIRE SERVICE OCCUPATIONS<br />
2743 Semester<br />
Students in this course will experience intensive, hands-on learning. Students will explore careers in rescue services,<br />
learn fire prevention and mitigation skills; use and care of fire-fighting tools, gear, and equipment; fire science; first<br />
aid; and CPR. Possible field trips to forest service, fire service, fire station, industrial fire department, city fire<br />
department, and private fire academy.<br />
ROP GRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS CC/CVE<br />
2684 Semester<br />
Students will be placed in a classroom setting for 30 hours to build on their knowledge and review the skills they<br />
have learned from previous Graphic Design classes. Students will then be placed on an unpaid internship for at least<br />
40 hours where the student will gain valuable hands on experience in a graphic design/graphic communications<br />
business. Internships may lead to paid employment.<br />
ROP HEALTH OCCUPATIONS<br />
2774 Semester<br />
This course trains students for employment in entry-level positions in hospital and health related occupations. The<br />
student acquires occupationally specific skills in one or more entry level job titles in the areas of therapeutic,<br />
diagnostic, clerical, and supportive services in the healthcare facility. The goal of the course is to expose the students<br />
to the diverse career opportunities available in the health care field.<br />
ROP UC FILM/VIDEO PRODUCTIONS 1<br />
2770 Semester<br />
This course is designed to introduce students to concepts and principles used in film and video production. This<br />
course exposes students to the basics of visual storytelling through the creation of storyboards, script writing, basic<br />
shot types, camera movements, lighting, audio, and techniques of editing. Students will learn the skills necessary for<br />
jobs within the industry such as producer, director, art director, set design, camera operator, script supervisor, editor,<br />
etc. See also ROP section. This course meets the UC/CSU a-g requirements in the following category: (f) - Visual and<br />
Performing Arts.<br />

This course will explore the ever-changing trends in the global field of design. Students will understand the impact<br />
of the arts and design throughout history and in various cultures. This course is UC approved and is eligible for<br />
elective credit. Students will learn methods and theory such as elements and principles of design to enhance their<br />
artistic vision and style. This course meets the UC/CSU a-g requirements in the following category: (f) - Visual and<br />
Performing Arts.<br />
ROP LAW ENFORCEMENT/CRIMINAL JUSTICE<br />
2720 Semester<br />
This course is designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs in the law enforcement field. This course enables<br />
students to examine a wide variety of career opportunities in public and private law enforcement. Students will<br />
receive an introduction to law enforcement, public safety dispatcher, records clerk, police cadet, and security guard.<br />
ROP MICROSOFT SPECIALIST (MOS) CERTIFICATION<br />
2750 Semester<br />
This class will prepare students to be proficient in Microsoft software; students will take the online exam given by<br />
Microsoft and be certified in a specific area such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft PowerPoint.<br />
ROP OFFICE OCCUPATIONS (GENERAL OFFICE CLERK)<br />
2704 Semester<br />
This course is designed to train students for entry-level positions in the business/clerical area. Classroom instruction<br />
will include introduction to computers, word processing, keyboarding techniques, printing, using a calculator, filing,<br />
telephone etiquette, penmanship, proofreading, listening and speaking skills, regulations relating to sexual<br />
