Units of Credit<br />

The unit of credit at <strong>Mercer</strong> is the semester hour. Generally, a credit represents one<br />

hour of class work per week, or its equivalent in other forms of instruction.<br />

Course Load<br />

A full-time load for a regular undergraduate student is 12 semester hours of credit per<br />

semester. With a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the previous semester, a student<br />

may enroll for more than 17, but not more than 20, semester hours in the following semester.<br />

However, the 3.0 average must be maintained if the student desires to retain this privilege<br />

during the succeeding semester. A senior whose cumulative grade point average is<br />

2.0 or higher in the previous semester may enroll for a maximum of 20 semester hours in<br />
