Fred & Gloria Tilley - Dee Why Automotive
The Trisic family - Brookvale Cellars
Peter Ford - Long Reef Sailboard & Surf
Also we thank ABB, Vivendi, BP and NSW Sport & Recreation for your involvement in our
club.
The clubs competitors played hard all season. Tom Rees, winner of the Branch Junior Beach
sprint was by far the stand out and congratulations to Tom. We had man y starters in the
Branch Master Championships with several competitors winning medals. Even some of OUf
nipper parents fronted for a run and a swim in the Masters. This is great to see. Perhaps we
can do more than just row boats!
52nd ANNUAL REPORT & BALANCE SHEET
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Congratul ations to ALL. Everyone that did patrols, the Club Captain and Vice Captains, the
Management Committee, the President, the Nipper Parents, the competitors, those who
achieved awards, the Instructors, the HBI 's, the fund raisers and the sponsors.
A huge amount of effort is ex pended to provide a safe beach environment and to be part of a
wonderful community lifestyle that transcends all walks of life, age groups and backgrounds.
The great shame, in the big picture, is that the State Government provides no support for Surf
Li fe Saving and the local Council, through their own financial mismanagement, proposed
changes that would cause Surf Clubs to provide income to the Council for any commercial
activity that would provide some financial independence. LillIe wonder competitive talent
sells itself to the banana benders whose governments actively and financiall y promote Surf
Lifesaving.
That makes OUR efforts to provide the services we do all the more sensational.
For the following season the Board is looking at ways to improve communication, increase
our finances, reduce patrol repetition and make Ollr time at Longy more enjoyable.
Congratulations to ALL.
Bruce Gaal
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Our overall standing with the Branch also improved. Our position improved from 20 th out of
21 clubs last season to 14th this season. It took an overall club effort to achieve th is
improvement, and I personally thank you all.
I wish the club well in its endeavours next season. I have enjoyed my first season as President
and thank all who have helped me. I look forward 10 continuing our progress next season.
