FUND RAISING REPORT<br />

Fundraising Night<br />

On March 16 th a repetit ion of the Vi va Las <strong>Long</strong>y fundraising night was held. With over 130<br />

people allending thi s great night, again ra ised over $ 13,000 for the club. The proceeds of the<br />

night have been placed towards the fu ture program of <strong>Long</strong> <strong>Reef</strong> <strong>Surf</strong> Club and the many<br />

costs and expenses incurred to operate our club.<br />

Special thanks to Helen Van Weeren our Junior registrar for the lasl three years who is now<br />

standing down. There are a few changes in respect to registrations and these will make the<br />

job easier in the future. Many thanks to Helen for doing the hard yards. Eve Watson will be<br />

passing on her secretarial obligat ions and to her many thanks fo r organi sing newsletters and<br />

communications for all. We need replacements for both these positions.<br />

If you would like to put your hand up to help next season ... please don't be shy .. come and<br />

see us!! Altematively ring Keith Henry on 9982 8259, SCali McLachlan or Lindy<br />

Hardcastle 99827271 or just approach anyone on the beach.<br />

This event cannot be held without all the surf club members input. Their assistance continues<br />

to give us the resul ts that we are aChieving. Look oul we are going to include another big<br />

occasion to raise the funds for additional equipment needed for the club's expansion.<br />

The Nippers Contingent<br />

The format of the gaming night has been very popular and sllccessful. The auction was held<br />

with many fabu lous ite ms on offer, including a wallabies rugby jumper signed Rod Macqueen<br />

and John Eales, wetsuits supplied by <strong>Long</strong> <strong>Reef</strong> Sailboards and <strong>Surf</strong>, car services and petrol<br />

from Dee Why Auto. Wi th the support of Brookvale Cellars. Dynamic Press. Watts Waste.<br />

<strong>Long</strong> <strong>Reef</strong> Boardriders and many others who contributed to a slIcessfu l night.<br />
