INGAA Action Plan to Build Confidence<br />
in Pipeline Safety<br />
In the wake of a number of significant pipeline incidents,<br />
the INGAA Board of Directors chartered the Integrity<br />
Management Continuous Improvement initiative. From this,<br />
9 Action Teams were assembled to proactively address issues<br />
to build confidence in pipeline safety. The speaker will review<br />
these efforts for the conference attendees.<br />

1) AC Induced Corrosion<br />
The presentation is a case study of a corrosion leak on<br />
an NPS 16 HP line running in a high tension wire corridor.<br />
The cause of the corrosion was due to induced AC current.<br />
The line was in-line inspected after the first leak was<br />
detected. The inspection identified a number of Immediate<br />
Indications, one of which was found to be leaking as it was<br />
excavated. The study includes the actions that were taken<br />
system wide as a result of this leak.<br />

2) FLIR Camera, New Technology<br />
for Leak Investigation<br />
A presentation on the use of a FLIR Camera for leak<br />
detection on transmission and distribution stations.<br />
We will discuss the results of initial testing and positions<br />
going forward.<br />
