egister <strong>to</strong> vote. The Statistics Unit might have an idea of how many people are estimated <strong>to</strong> become eligible at<br />
the next Sena<strong>to</strong>rial <strong>Elections</strong> <strong>to</strong> vote but I hesitate <strong>to</strong> ask them until the issue has surfaced at least. They would<br />
presumably <strong>in</strong> any event be liv<strong>in</strong>g for the most part <strong>in</strong> households where there are already other voters so it would<br />
just be a case of add<strong>in</strong>g another name <strong>to</strong> the registration form. The Parishes would have <strong>to</strong> enter a few more<br />
names on<strong>to</strong> the elec<strong>to</strong>ral roll but I can’t see there would be any real additional f<strong>in</strong>ancial or manpower implications<br />
and if there were they would be for the parishes not the <strong>States</strong>. I hope that the Connétables embrace the<br />
opportunity of <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g the amount of people who are eligible <strong>to</strong> participate <strong>in</strong> elections <strong>in</strong> Jersey and will seek<br />
funds as required by the method they choose appropriate <strong>in</strong> this regard.
