Conference Update NZIFST Food Elements: Putting the Pieces Together, NZIFST Annual Conference 2009 June 23-25, Christchurch Convention Centre There are many elements to bringing a food product to market. Research and development is necessary for new and innovative products, requiring funding as the first element. Researchers need to be aware of new technologies and scientific processes. Understanding nutrition and government regulations are necessary steps. Finally, communication to the public of the risks and benefits of the product needs to be clear and compelling.
