Elements of Art 2: Students investigate space and texture in works of art.
throughout history, from ancient to modern times.
Study and Sketching of Artwork: Using their selected pieces, students engage in guided art
discussions and complete a sketching guide to assist in their study and research.
Graduation: Students act as docents and create a reproduction of their chosen work of art to
present an oral report and aesthetic response to a group of family members, adults, and
peers.
Every school participating in JDSP receives the services of one of our trained docents
(volunteer educators) while enrolled in the program. JDSP relies on the docent liaisons to assist
with planning school visits to the Museum and various other tasks as students’ progress through
the program. The docent liaison is the school’s personal connection to the Museum.
