Student Improvement Plans are developed for students that score below the state
math standards and for students who are working below grade level.
Tutoring is provided for students one on one or in small groups through
inclusion paras, regular education paras, support staff, parent and community
volunteers.
Students identified as most at risk (grades 1-5) are given the opportunity to
participate in after-school math tutoring weekly (pending parental consent).
Tier time to provide additional support for students struggling with math
concepts.
Manipulatives (hands on materials) utilized to introduce, explain, reteach, and
enhance math instruction.
Opportunities for real world problem solving are presented as a regular part of
math instruction with extra focus on estimating and measurement, as well as
using a variety of data representations.
