Multi-function rooms.
The lab has 2 multi-function rooms with the dimensions of a typical office (16 m² and 25 m²). In these
rooms, we can demonstrate various ventilation and air conditioning systems (such as diffusers, fan
convectors and decentralised ventilation systems) and investigate them using measurements. We use
installations whose features can be changed to allow us to look at how warm or cold facades affect
component functions and the room climate.
Thanks to the modular design of the rooms, superior insulation used in the enclosing surfaces, and
computer-aided measured value acquisition, we are able to determine heating and cooling power data
under realistic operating conditions.
With a versatile range of installation and supply options available, we can use the laboratory to investigate
and optimise all kinds of system combinations involving water-ducting and air-ducting components
working together (e.g. centralised ventilation + chilled ceiling or decentralised ventilation + fan
convectors). In the process, we can take into account aspects such as customer specifications relating
to operation, use and arrangement of the rooms. Using high-quality measuring technology, we can also
take measurements to prove that everything is functioning correctly and that we are meeting thermal
comfort requirements in a room.
Experience
the principles
of air directing.
In the demonstration room, we give visitors to the
R&D centre an insight into how various room ventilation
and air conditioning products work. Using
various installations, we provide clear explanations
of the basic principles of air directing (e.g. mixed ventilation,
source ventilation and mixed-source ventilation).
Visitors can observe the distribution and flow
of the air (which is made visible using smoke) in the
room through the large two-sided glass facade. As a
result, it is possible to compare different ventilation
principles and illustrate specific functional aspects of
individual products in practice.
