Variable valve timing
Inner exhaust gas recirculation takes place by intake port variable valve timing.
Valve timing is adjusted by a max. crank angle of 40° from the basic setting in the "advance" direction
depending on engine load and speed.
The advantages are:
- optimal interior exhaust gas recirculation and this produces a reduction in combustion temperature and
nitrogen oxide emissions, as well as an improved torque curve.
