Investigator Morrison at Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 30 Grammercy<br />

Nick was home in bed when he got the ambulance page at approximately 1:28am<br />

for shots fired, officer down. As Nick got close to Garrigan Ave, he saw Ambulance<br />

7601 pulling into the Town Center. Nick got into Ambulance 7606 and they left with<br />

about 6 EMTs. <strong>The</strong>y pulled into the Town Center and pulled along the side of CVS.<br />

Nick saw out the side window of the ambulance as a police officer yelled loudly to an<br />

angry bystander. Nick thought the police officer had a gun or taser pointed at the<br />

bystander. A county officer told the crew it was safe and they approached PO<br />

Hess., who was near a Nissan Altima that had severe damage. <strong>The</strong>y helped PO<br />

Hess onto a stretcher and loaded PO Hess into 7603. Nick was then told to help<br />

EMT Krista Wind who was treating a patient shot in the right arm. He helped get<br />

the male onto a backboard, and onto a stretcher and then to an ambulance that left<br />

the scene. Nick was left on scene with Gail Wind and Tyler Colangelo. A short time<br />

later they were brought over to PO Castagna who had been boarded and collared<br />

already. After he was loaded into the ambulance, Nick was told to drive the<br />

Transcare flycar to WMC. Nick also recalled that the male with the gunshot wound<br />

to the arm stated to EMT Krista Wind that he was in no position to do anything to<br />
