For that every AV-TC 300 gets a device address (ID) which range between 1 and 250 (see M4.5.5). Commands, which are sent via bus, contain the ID and address a special device. This device evaluates the command and sends a return via bus (see protocol SONY+ID, M4.5.2). Connections RS485 is connected as a bus. Beginning and end must be properly terminated right. One end is terminated on the PC-card the other on the cable. The operating voltage is given by AV-TC 300 via 330 Ohm on pin 4. The following pin numbers of the PC-card relate to RS485-card #13601 of W&T. User Manual AV-TC 300 Page 9 B4 OPERATION With their AV-TC 300, Alpermann+Velte, the Time Code specialists located in Wuppertal, present a modular concept permitting user-specific configurations. The basic unit includes one digital video channel and the control panel with LED display and function keys. Modules permitting to define specific applications are optionally available. The following modules may be built in: • LTC High Speed Reader • LTC Play Speed Reader • LTC Generator • DVITC Reader • DVITC Generator • Serial Interface RS 232 • Serial Interface RS 422 • Serial Interface RS 485 • Parallel Interface • Insertion for times of the studio timer system AV-MTD (Software). The menu item CONFIGURATION (M4.1) in the SETUP menu and the display message after power-on contain information on the modules integrated into your AV-TC 300 unit. Correspondingly, only those sections of the operating instructions are relevant which refer to the corresponding configuration.
