Below is the heading to be used for your writing sample. It should be against the left margin of your notebook paper. Student Name: School: Date: Grade: Prompt # The writing sample should be no longer than two pages. The writing sample will be scored 1-5, with 5 being the highest. The readers will be looking for: • well-organized thoughts • logical, concise reasoning • correct punctuation • proper capitalization • correct grammar usage Writing Sample Rubric included Prompt #1 Students in an English class debated whether composition skills were important in all occupations and careers. Some students believed that every kind of work required writing skills, but many students disagreed.
