As students begin to consider their choices for high school,
the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme at
Eisenhower High School would like to present you with some
facts about our programme.
How do you become part of the Program

What’s In It For You
The best high school preparation for college anywhere – an
education that meets worldwide standards of excellence.
Students who earn the International Baccalaureate Diploma
are usually admitted to universities with college credit and, in
many cases, sophomore standing. The state of Texas awards
24 semester hours at any state supported college or university
to students who earn an IB Diploma with a minimum score of
a 4 on a 7 point scale on each of the six exams represented in
that student’s diploma.
We look forward to having you with us at Eisenhower High
School to receive a World Class Education through the
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
What’s the curriculum to meet these goals
• 4 years of IB English (literature based)
• 4 or more years of IB Foreign Language (Spanish or French)
• 4 years of IB Social Studies (World Geography, World History,
History of the Americas, ITGS-Information Technology in a
Global Society)
• 4 years of IB Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
• 4 years of Math (Geometry, Algebra 2, Mathematics SL or
Math Studies)
• A sixth subject – Theater Arts, Visual Arts, Music, or a
second subject from Mathematics or Experimental Science
• Theory of Knowledge –TOK (How do we learn, why do we
learn, what do we do with our knowledge)
• Extended Essay – 4,000 word maximum based on
independent research
