Swinney Recreation Center<br />

• Serves as the practice and event facility for <strong>UMKC</strong> Volleyball<br />

• One of the finest fitness centers in all of Kansas City<br />

• Created with a $14.5 million addition to old Swinney<br />

Gymnasium<br />

• Includes five basketball courts and four racquetball courts<br />

• Houses an indoor/outdoor<br />

25-meter swimming pool<br />

• Sauna and steam room for relaxation<br />

• Two weight rooms allow any type of lift to be<br />

performed<br />

• Stairmasters, stationary bikes and treadmills all at your ready<br />

• Nautilus equipment allows for two types of circuit training<br />

Swinney Recreation Center serves as the practice and event facility<br />

for <strong>UMKC</strong> volleyball. It features five basketball courts and two racquetball<br />

courts.<br />

The Oak Street Housing East project is a collaboration between<br />

<strong>UMKC</strong> and Capstone Development Corporation. This five-story,<br />

132,000 square-foot facility houses 560 primarily freshmen and<br />

sophomore students, and opened in 2004.<br />
