Education in Higher Education Administration <strong>and</strong> the Education Specialist in Teaching <strong>and</strong> Learning.<br />

The college seeks to provide programs <strong>and</strong> courses <strong>of</strong> outst<strong>and</strong>ing quality that prepare “reflective<br />

educators for diverse learners.” Programs prepare pr<strong>of</strong>essionals for positions in teaching, curriculum,<br />

counseling, school psychology, higher education administration or student services, instructional technology,<br />

<strong>and</strong> educational leadership. Courses, including endorsement programs in areas such as early childhood math,<br />

English for Speakers <strong>of</strong> Other Languages (ESOL), reading education, <strong>and</strong> teacher leadership, are also <strong>of</strong>fered to<br />

practicing teachers to assist in their pr<strong>of</strong>essional development.<br />

All programs leading to initial certification <strong>of</strong>fered by the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Education incorporate extensive field<br />

components in collaboration with a network <strong>of</strong> partner schools. Graduates demonstrate high levels <strong>of</strong><br />

competency in their content knowledge, in their ability to integrate technology for instructional purposes, <strong>and</strong><br />

in their capacity to impact student learning. As a result, graduates are highly sought by school systems<br />

throughout Georgia <strong>and</strong> the region.<br />

106.03 <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Business Administration<br />

The <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Business Administration <strong>of</strong>fers a fully accredited program <strong>of</strong> instruction leading to degrees<br />

in the Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Business Administration, the Master <strong>of</strong> Business Administration, the Master <strong>of</strong> Accounting,<br />

the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Applied Economics, <strong>and</strong> the Ph.D. in Logistics <strong>and</strong> Supply Chain Management. The<br />

Department <strong>of</strong> Finance <strong>and</strong> Quantitative Analysis; the Department <strong>of</strong> Management, Marketing, <strong>and</strong> Logistics;<br />

the School <strong>of</strong> Accountancy; <strong>and</strong> the School <strong>of</strong> Economic Development have a full schedule <strong>of</strong> appropriate<br />

courses necessary to support majors.<br />

All undergraduate business students are expected to complete a broad common core background during<br />

their first two years <strong>of</strong> study. These fundamental courses provide an awareness <strong>of</strong> the economic, social, <strong>and</strong><br />

human forces that form the environment <strong>of</strong> business. During the junior <strong>and</strong> senior years, before becoming<br />

specialists in their chosen majors, students complete a sequence <strong>of</strong> courses designed to cover core business<br />

disciplines.<br />

Instructional methods incorporate the latest computer technology. Graduates <strong>of</strong> the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Business<br />

Administration are actively recruited by the business community.<br />

106.04 <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Health <strong>and</strong> Human Sciences<br />

The <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Health <strong>and</strong> Human Sciences houses distinguished, nationally recognized <strong>and</strong> accredited<br />

undergraduate <strong>and</strong> graduate programs in the Department <strong>of</strong> Hospitality, Tourism, <strong>and</strong> Family <strong>and</strong> Consumer<br />

Sciences; the Department <strong>of</strong> Health <strong>and</strong> Kinesiology; <strong>and</strong> the School <strong>of</strong> Nursing.<br />

The Department <strong>of</strong> Hospitality, Tourism, <strong>and</strong> Family <strong>and</strong> Consumer Sciences <strong>of</strong>fers the B.S. degree with<br />

majors in fashion merch<strong>and</strong>ising <strong>and</strong> apparel design, child <strong>and</strong> family development, interior design, hotel <strong>and</strong><br />

restaurant management, sport management, <strong>and</strong> recreation. In addition, the department <strong>of</strong>fers the M.S.<br />

degree with a major in sport management.<br />

The Department <strong>of</strong> Health <strong>and</strong> Kinesiology <strong>of</strong>fers the B.S. in Health Science (B.S.H.S.) degree with a major<br />

in community health; the B.S. in Kinesiology (B.S.K.) degree with majors in exercise science <strong>and</strong> athletic training<br />

(accredited by the Commission on Accreditation <strong>of</strong> Athletic Training Programs—CAATE); the B.S. degree with a<br />

major in nutrition <strong>and</strong> food science (accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education—<br />

CADE); <strong>and</strong> supports the health <strong>and</strong> physical education major (NCATE accredited) leading to teacher<br />

certification. The department also <strong>of</strong>fers a graduate program—the M.S. degree with a major in kinesiology,<br />

including tracks in sport psychology, athletic training, exercise physiology, sports nutrition, physical education,<br />

<strong>and</strong> coaching education (online).<br />

The School <strong>of</strong> Nursing <strong>of</strong>fers fully accredited programs leading to the B.S.N., the M.S.N., <strong>and</strong> the D.N.P.<br />

Undergraduate options include Pre‐Licensure B.S.N., L.P.N.‐B.S.N., R.N.‐B.S.N., <strong>and</strong> R.N.‐M.S.N. programs.<br />

Graduate options within the M.S.N. program include a nurse practitioner major with a track in family nurse<br />

practitioner <strong>and</strong> a clinical nurse specialist major with a track in community health clinical nurse specialist. Postmaster<br />

certificate options in the aforementioned areas are also available. The Doctor <strong>of</strong> Nursing Practice<br />

(D.N.P.) is an online degree <strong>of</strong>fering.<br />

Additionally, the college houses the Child Development Center, the Coaching Education Outreach Program,<br />

the Rural Nursing Outreach Center, the Magnolia Coastl<strong>and</strong>s Area Health Education Center (MCAHEC), <strong>and</strong> the<br />

<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Health <strong>and</strong> Human Sciences Student Services Center.
