amount <strong>of</strong> any such expenditure shall be refunded to the<br />
Corporation by the <strong>Government</strong>:<br />
Provided that, in calculating the amount <strong>of</strong> any such<br />
expenditure, the amount <strong>of</strong> any fees or other moneys<br />
received by the Corporation in respect <strong>of</strong> any such matters<br />
shall be credited against the expenditure.<br />
(2) <strong>The</strong> matters referred to in subsection (1) <strong>of</strong> this<br />
section are —<br />
(a) investigations and reports under section 50 <strong>of</strong><br />
this <strong>Act</strong>;<br />
(b) the duties and functions <strong>of</strong> the Corporation and<br />
inspectors under section 53 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Act</strong>.<br />
(3) For the purpose <strong>of</strong> this section “expenditure”<br />
shall be deemed to include a proper proportion <strong>of</strong> the<br />
salary and allowances <strong>of</strong> any <strong>of</strong>ficer or servant <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Corporation employed in connection with any matter<br />
specified in subsection (2) <strong>of</strong> this section, together with an<br />
appropriate contribution in respect <strong>of</strong> any pension; gratuity,<br />
leave pay and cost <strong>of</strong> passages payable to or in respect <strong>of</strong><br />
any such <strong>of</strong>ficer or servant.<br />
23. (1) <strong>The</strong> Corporation may, with the approval <strong>of</strong><br />
the Minister and the consent in writing <strong>of</strong> the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />
Finance, establish a scheme or schemes for the payment <strong>of</strong><br />
superannuation allowances, pensions or gratuities to<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficers and servants <strong>of</strong> the Corporation who retire from<br />
the service <strong>of</strong> the Corporation, or otherwise cease to hold<br />
<strong>of</strong>fice, by reason <strong>of</strong> age, or <strong>of</strong> infirmity <strong>of</strong> body or mind, or<br />
<strong>of</strong> abolition <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice.<br />
(2) <strong>The</strong> following provisions shall apply to any<br />
scheme established under this section:<br />
(a) no assurance on the life <strong>of</strong> any contributor under<br />
any such scheme, and no moneys or other<br />
benefits payable under any such assurance, and<br />
no pension, gratuity or other allowance granted<br />
under any such scheme to any person who has<br />
been employed by the Corporation, shall be<br />
assignable or transferable, or liable to be<br />
garnisheed, attached, sequestered or levied upon<br />
for or in respect <strong>of</strong> any debt or claim<br />
whatsoever, other than a debt to the Corporation<br />
or the <strong>Government</strong>;<br />
