ELECTRICITY [CH.194 – 7<br />
“installation” means the whole <strong>of</strong> any plant or<br />
apparatus designed for the supply or use, or<br />
both, as the case may be, <strong>of</strong> energy, including<br />
prime movers, if any, with all necessary plant,<br />
buildings and land in connection therewith, pipe<br />
lines, supply lines and consuming apparatus, if<br />
any;<br />
“licensed undertaker” means a person authorised<br />
under the Out Islands <strong>Electricity</strong> <strong>Act</strong> to supply<br />
energy to the public in any part <strong>of</strong> the Out<br />
Islands;<br />
“live” or “alive” applied to a system or any part <strong>of</strong> a<br />
system, means that a voltage exists between any<br />
conductor and earth or between any two<br />
conductors in the system;<br />
“main” means a supply line through which energy is<br />
or can be supplied, whether such line is in use or<br />
not;<br />
“member <strong>of</strong> the Corporation” includes the Executive<br />
Chairman, the Deputy Chairman, a temporary<br />
Chairman, a temporary Deputy Chairman and<br />
any temporary member <strong>of</strong> the Corporation;<br />
“Minister” means the Minister charged with the<br />
responsibility for relations with the Corporation;<br />
“prescribed” means prescribed in accordance with the<br />
provisions <strong>of</strong> section 58 or 60 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Act</strong> and in<br />
relation to any charges or fees for the rendering<br />
<strong>of</strong> any service by the Corporation or a licensed<br />
undertaker such charges or fees as are determined<br />
by the Commission established under the<br />
Public Utilities Commission <strong>Act</strong>, 1993;<br />
“public lamp” means an electric lamp used for the<br />
lighting <strong>of</strong> any street, wharf, dock or other public<br />
place;<br />
“public safety” means the obviation <strong>of</strong> danger to the<br />
general public, to public property and to roads,<br />
streets, canals, docks, wharves, piers, bridges,<br />
water-works and their appurtenances and telegraphic,<br />
telephonic and other electrical signalling<br />
lines owned or operated by the <strong>Government</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>Bahamas</strong>;<br />
