Like an obedient school girl she
would close her eyes and my
hands took charge. Her forehead
was like a rock refusing to budge,
but slowly it started drawing
energy from my hands and then
Nandani cried out in pain, Geeta,
my back is hurting me and I am
getting a strange headache too.”
“I know.”
I gave healing to her head and
within minutes she was better.
Then I touched her spine and I
heard her whimper again.
“Are you feeling something, is the
pain bothering you”, I asked.
“Yes of course, a warm current is
flowing and bringing back the pain
in my back.” She continued to
come for healing sessions for
about two weeks.
“When did Reiki gain its
popularity” Nandini asked me
one day.
After Usui’s transition, a naval
surgeon, Dr
Chujiro Hayashi
shouldered the
responsibility of
carrying on the
traditions of Reiki.
It was Dr. Hayashi, who founded
the first Reiki clinic in Tokyo.
Hayashi was more interested in the
healing rather than the spiritual
aspects of Usui's system and sought
to systematise the teachings,
developing the sequence of hand
positions in use today.
Reiki became a popular treatment in
Japan but still remained unknown in
rest of the world.
“Can I learn it too” inquired Nandani.
“Of course, you can,” I told her.
Nandini was so eager and fervent to
learn Reiki that I decided to attune her
after a few more healing treatments.
Her acquiescence and deligence
moved my heart and I decided to train
her further as a Reiki Teacher after a
year. She has proved herself be be a
honest and hardworking healer.
Now, after 2 years Nandini stands far
away from her traumatic backpain
that robed her of peace and traqulity
in life. She has become a
professional Reiki healer and her
family is supporting her ideology by
practising Reiki regularly. Her 3 year
old son is a Reiki channel too! He
gives Reiki to his pet dog and treats
the plants in his home when they
look pale and dry. The little master is
a perfect Reiki channel and does it
with absolute innocence. He has no
blockage in his system to hinder the
flow of The Life Force Energy.

Mrs. Hawayo Takata, of Hawaii is
solely responsible to bring this
enormous energyhealing
technique
to the West. She is
known as the
Mother of Modern
Reiki. As student of
Reiki Grand-
Master Chujiro
Hayashi, Hawayo Takata spread the
healing art of Reiki (“universal life
force,” or as Mrs.Takata called it,
“God power”). As a Japanese
American, she helped to promote
understanding of Japanese spiritual
culture, in a time when all things
Japanese were rather taboo. It was
not until 1975 that she began training
other Reiki Masters, but she did
continue to practice Reiki healing on
others. Before she died in 1980, she
had trained twenty-two masters.
These masters went on to spread
Reiki across America, and it caught
on like wildfire. Today it is practiced
by thousands and thousands of people
all around the world.

Reiki, according to me is a vibrational
force well equipped to create and
sustain peace. Peace is a vibrational
energy that can be affected by the light
of the Reiki energy. As we create peace
in our own hearts, we align with our
personal purpose for being alive, we
remember who we are.
