Admission Requirements Admissions Requirements All of our programmes are practice-based, so applicants must hold a primary degree or equivalent qualification and should ideally be working in the healthcare sector, with a fluent command of the English language. They should also have at least three years work experience. Professional Development Courses are offered subject to sufficient number of students being enrolled. Fees Masters’ programmes fees are €12,240 (EU) and €24,390 (Non-EU) unless otherwise stated. This is inclusive of an NUI fee. Fees are payable via instalments or in one lump sum. Students who are being sponsored or part funded by their employer should complete a Sponsorship Form and submit it to the administration office. Students with fees outstanding at the end of the academic year are not permitted to register on to the following academic year or to graduate until such fees have been paid in full. Such students also do not have access to their examination results. How to Apply Please complete the online application form at www.rcsileadership.org and include the following supporting documentation with your application: • Copy of academic transcripts (official document stating course, subjects, results, completion date, and signed) • Copy of passport (will accept a photocopy) • One passport-type photograph • A €100 non-refundable application fee payable via credit card, cheque or bank draft. Places on the programmes are limited and demand is likely to exceed the number available. Consequently you are advised to submit your application in good time to avoid disappointment. On receipt of your application you will receive a confirmation email. Once the application deadline has passed all applicants will be assessed by the academic team and applicants will be notified of the outcome by post/email. Tax Relief Many RCSI programmes qualify for tax relief. Tax relief at the standard rate will be available to the student for the relevant tax year on the amount approved by the Minister of Education. Tax relief will be available on tuition fees only up to a maximum level, which applies uniformly to all approved programmes. Relief will not be available for any part of the tuition fees which are met directly or indirectly, by grants, scholarships or employer payments. For more information on whether your programme of study qualifies for tax relief please visit the Revenue website: www.revenue.ie Academic Calendar The duration of each master’s programme is two years part-time with 3 full contact days per module. The module structure allows you the flexibility to take each module as a ‘stand alone’ unit. Year 1 Semester 1 (September – December) Modules 1, 2 & 3 Semester 2 (January – April/May) Modules 4, 5 & 6 Year 2 Semester 3 & 4 (September – May) Action Learning Sets & Change Management Project Postgraduate Certificate = Completion of Modules 1, 2 & 3. Postgraduate Diploma = Completion of Modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6. MSc = Completion of Modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 and Action Learning Sets and Change Management Project. Non EU Students The designation of a candidate as EU or Non-EU determines: • The application procedure that applies • The fee levels to which they will be liable A candidate will qualify for EU status where they meet one of the following three criteria: 1. They are a national of an EU member state and will be ordinarily resident in an EU member state for three of the five years prior to the commencement of the programme. 2. They are a national of an EU member state and have received all their post-primary education within an EU member state. 3. They have been in full time employment in an EU member stage for three of the last five years prior to the commencement of the first year of the course. This applies to candidates over the age of 23. 4. They have been ordinarily resident in years prior to the commencement of the programme. This applies to candidates under the age of 23. Footnotes: 1. A person is deemed to be a ‘national’ of an EU/EEA member state where they have a passport or National ID Card from an EU/EEA member state or an Official Letter confirming Refugee Status in Ireland. 2.
