NEW MEMBER PROFILE<br />

Woodbine Tool & Die Manufacturing Limited is a<br />

wholly owned <strong>Canadian</strong> Corporation that was founded in<br />

1979. Tibor Urbanek, President of the company came to<br />

Canada from Hungary in 1969. Over the past 28 years,<br />

the company has provided the marketplace with quality<br />

dies, stamped <strong>and</strong> assembled parts for the automotive,<br />

electronics, computer, <strong>and</strong> appliance markets. <strong>The</strong><br />

company’s two facilities are both registered to the<br />

internationally recognized st<strong>and</strong>ard of TS16949-2002<br />

<strong>and</strong> QS9000, shipping over 60 million parts <strong>and</strong> over<br />

100 dies per year. <strong>The</strong>ir manufacturing plant houses<br />

multiple late model stamping presses ranging in size<br />

from 100 tons to 1,000 tons, with feed-line capacity of<br />

50-inch width <strong>and</strong> up to 0.375-inch thickness.<br />

Woodbine’s assembly department has 18 resistance<br />

weld centres, 7 mig-welding robots <strong>and</strong> other assembly<br />

equipment. Twenty-four hour production requirements<br />

are supported with a current manpower compliment of<br />

over 150 employees running over 3 shifts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> tool room contains a wide array of technologically<br />

advanced machining centres including a CNC milling<br />

department <strong>and</strong> one of the larger CNC Wire EDM<br />

departments in the industry. Many of Woodbine’s<br />

customers started working with them back in the 1980’s<br />

<strong>and</strong> continue working with them today. <strong>The</strong> company’s<br />

tool shop is highly experienced in producing complex<br />

progressive <strong>and</strong> transfer dies, forming HSLA steels up to<br />

140KSI, <strong>and</strong> Woodbine is also an industry expert in<br />

<strong>The</strong> tooling build location in Markham, Ontario is a<br />

50,000 sq. ft. facility employing a large manpower force<br />

of over 100 employees. <strong>The</strong>se trained personnel offer<br />

expertise <strong>and</strong> support in the areas of engineering, die<br />

design <strong>and</strong> all facets of die manufacturing <strong>and</strong> testing. A<br />

fully staffed engineering/design department, equipped<br />

with the latest in CAD software, provide technical<br />

support at all stages of tool development.<br />
