Prior to the Board voting on a teacher's resignation, employees with<br />

written transfer request forms on file may be interviewed. All teachers<br />

submitting a written response who are properly certified/licensed shall be<br />

granted an interview opportunity as soon as possible after the posting or<br />

resignation notice has been received by the Superintendent.<br />

When a transfer and/or reassignment is not approved, the Superintendent<br />

(or designee) will notifY the teacher in writing.<br />

c. Vacancies Occurring During School Year<br />

A vacancy which occurs during the <strong>school</strong> year shall be posted unless the<br />

Superintendent determines that a substitute/temporary teacher would best<br />

be employed to finish the current <strong>school</strong> year. However, should the<br />

position being served by the substitute be needed for the ensuing <strong>school</strong><br />

year, the position shall be posted following the normal posting procedures<br />

in preparing staffing assignments for the following <strong>school</strong> year (see<br />

following paragraph).<br />

d. Vacancies For Ensuing School Year<br />

Each year, preferably before the close <strong>of</strong> the <strong>school</strong> year, a posting <strong>of</strong><br />

vacancies for the ensuing <strong>school</strong> year shall be made available to all<br />

teachers. This posting shall occur on a one-time basis after each building<br />

principal has established needed sections and assignments have been<br />

agreed upon for classroom teachers returning to that building for the<br />

coming year. (Exception - Teachers who travel among buildings and are<br />

subject to District-wide master schedule for special teachers.)<br />

Posting shall occur prior to the transfer <strong>of</strong> any teachers from their current<br />

building to another building even if an overage exists in one or more<br />

buildings. (Exception - Traveling teachers subject to special teachers'<br />

master schedule.)<br />

e. Summer Vacancies<br />

Vacancies which occur after the close <strong>of</strong> the <strong>school</strong> year and prior to the<br />

opening <strong>of</strong> <strong>school</strong> shall be posted in the central <strong>of</strong>fice. In addition,<br />

openings occurring during the summer months may be announced through<br />

notifications included on the District's web page and District e-mail. Prior<br />

to July I, vacancies will not be filled prior to the seven (7) day posting<br />

expiration. All teachers having a transfer request form on file and proper<br />

certification/licensure for the vacant position shall be <strong>of</strong>fered an interview.<br />

However, on or after July 1, vacancies may be filled prior to the seven (7)<br />

day posting expiration provided reasonable attempts have been made to<br />

notifY and <strong>of</strong>fer an interview to those teachers having a transfer request<br />

form on file and proper certification/licensure for the vacant position.<br />
