Congratulations go out to the<br />
<strong>Turner</strong> Bears Bowling Team. On Saturday<br />
afternoon, February 28, the girls<br />
bowling team qualified for the State<br />
Tournament to be held next weekend.<br />
The ladies’ team was led by Regional<br />
Champion Samantha Leatherbury, who<br />
shot a girls-high 601 series. Other girls<br />
on the team include Kathryn Hill, Kelsey<br />
Nigh, Mariah Hundley-Cockel, Shelby Ratliff,<br />
and CeCe Littleton. Two boys also<br />
made it, with Luis Ramirez and Steven Kolojaco<br />
bowling 662 and 617 series respectively<br />
to make it to State as individuals.<br />
Twenty students and their sponsors traveled to<br />
Wichita, Kansas on February 19-21 st for the BPA State Leadership<br />
Conference. There were around 500 students from across the<br />
state competing in various business/computer events. Eight<br />
<strong>Turner</strong> students qualified to go to Dallas, Texas for the National<br />
Conference, May 6-10, 2009. They are: Gabrielle Hinson & Chris<br />
Way – State Champions in Global Marketing….Julianna Herr &<br />
Devon Vogts – State Champions in Economic Research Project….Marisa<br />
Ortiz – State Champion in Administrative Support<br />
Research….Nick Fling – 2 nd place – Human Resource Management….Ashley<br />
Mauldin – 3 rd place – Advanced Interview<br />
Skills….Jesus Sanchez – 5 th place – Fundamental<br />
