cause the person who was supposed to provide it did not come through. Most students did not realize the step in
transferring a slide show into a video. Waiting for the music was upsetting as the student never did provide what he
had said he could. We were all happy to learn that slide to video is provided in Office, so we did not have to buy an
additional program to do that.
Methodology 4 – Effectiveness:
I will use this again in my composition classes. Students seem to enjoy using YouTube, it is what they are comfortable
with. On the downside, it is vital that they use many types of other resources to strengthen their MLA argument
research paper due in writing classes. Technology is not the only source, but it is a vital one. We learn by doing and
life does not have a filter for finding truth. We watched "What does the fox say" grow from a few thousand views to
over two hundred million. YouTube is a living, breathing thing.
Methodology 5 – Disadvantages:
I would like to spend more time with students showing them how to search on YouTube. We constantly discussed discerning
truth amid the millions of videos. Most instructors assume students understand YouTube, but there are so
many nontraditional students, as well as students who do not use technology unless they have to.
Additional Information:
This is one more thing I would do again with any composition class. The topics a class could post are endless; the
process of learning about YouTube is very valuable. Philosophically, "What does the fox say”
